No Pains, No Gains

In this life there are no gains without pains. Life indeed would be dull if there were no difficulties. Games lose their zest if there is no real struggle, if the result is a foregone conclusion. Both winner and loser enjoy a game most of it is closely contested to the last. No victory is a real triumph, unless the foe is worthy of the steel. Whether we like it or not, the life is one continuous competitive examination. Says a poet:
“We are not here to play, to dream, and to drift; we have hard work to do and loads to lift; Shun not the struggle; ‘tis God’s gift."
